SMSF services provider Heffron SMSF Solutions has announced that Meg Heffron has taken up the role of managing director, currently held by Martin Heffron.

The leadership change will see Ms Heffron drive Heffron both tactically and strategically and continue pursuing her passion for the sector.

Mr Heffron will remain actively involved in the business as a director with responsibilities for long-term strategy, policy and advocacy.

“There is now significant opportunity for us to help the SMSF sector evolve to provide better outcomes for clients, but achieving this requires a two-pronged approach,” Ms Heffron said.

“That’s why now is the right time for me to take on the managing director role, focusing on Heffron’s 2020 vision, while Martin will focus on our 2030 goals.”

The latest announcement follows a string of senior appointments at Heffron, including Natalie Sillar as head of sales and marketing, Kylie Turner as chief financial officer and Alex Denham as a senior SMSF specialist in the education team.

Ms Heffron said that having worked in the SMSF space since the late 1990s, she has seen enormous change in the industry.

“The exciting thing is, it doesn’t look like it will be slowing down any time soon,” she said.

“Both Martin and I look forward to playing a continuing role in raising standards in SMSFs, and retirement more broadly.”
